CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Road construction continues to make driving in Calhoun County a real challenge these days.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says 6 1/2 Mile Road will be closed at I-94 in Emmett Township for a week starting this Tuesday, September 3 while crews remove the temporary I-94 bridge.
The posted detour will be on B Drive North, I-194, Columbia Avenue, and Beadle Lake Road.
Also on Tuesday, there will be a single-lane closure on westbound I-94 between Beadle Lake Road Exit 100 in Emmett Township, and Capital Avenue Exit 97 in Battle Creek as crews continue painting the I-194 bridge over I-94.
In addition, the ramps from westbound I-94 to southbound I-194 and from northbound I-194 to westbound I-94 will be closed for about a month starting on Tuesday.
Motorists should expect delays and MDOT is advising drivers to take alternate routes.
