VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has confirmed a dairy cow herd in Van Buren County has tested positive for bird flu.
It is the 28th herd in the state to contract the highly pathogenic avian influenza.
MDARD officials have not said where the herd is located or how many animals were infected.
Samples have been sent to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Veterinary Services Lab for more testing.
