GALESBURG, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The man who admitted shooting and killing Kailey and Virgil Walker in their Galesburg apartment in June 2021 is expected to be released soon from psychiatric care.
Kailey’s mother, Denise Cooper, found out about the release this week when she was contacted by state officials and is trying to prevent William Wolfe from being freed.
Kalamazoo County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Jeff Williams says the office does not have many options in the pending release of Wolfe.
Wolfe was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2022 and was sent to the Center for Forensic Psychiatry.
Cooper says she is contacting lawmakers to try to prevent the release.
