BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – No injuries were reported as the Battle Creek Fire Department had to battle a fire at a large manufacturing facility on West Dickman Road Wednesday afternoon which cause nearly $2-and-a-half million in damage.
The cause of the fire at Advantage Sintered Metals is under investigation.
The building was occupied when the blaze was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m..
Upon the the fire department’s arrival, fire officials say crews found a large volume of fire and black smoke coming from the roof of the facility.
The Battle Creek VA Medical Center Fire Department provided mutual aid.
LifeCare Ambulance also assisted at the scene with rehab for the firefighters.
The fire was brought under control after about an hour and a half. Damage was reported to the roof and manufacturing area.
