BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A early Tuesday morning shooting that injured a 23-year-old man is being investigated by Battle Creek Police.
Police say the shooting at the intersection of Cliff Street and Nelson Street took place shortly after 2:30 a.m..
They report the victim was walking down Cliff Street when a red Chevrolet pulled up and the driver shot him in the left thigh.
The vehicle took off and fled south on Nelson Street.
The Battle Creek Fire Department provided on-site care before LifeCare ambulance transported the unidentified victim to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, where he was downgraded to stable condition.
Police believe this was an isolated incident and that the community is not in danger.
