KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Kalamazoo has used a new high-speed absentee ballot tabulator for the August primary election due to the increase in absentee ballots.
City Clerk Scott Borling says the machine can count up to 280 pages a minute compared to the 72 pages a minute tabulator they had been using, making things quicker for election workers.
He says they processed 6,200 absentee ballots last week and says that used to be what the city would process for a presidential election.
Borling adds they had no issues with the tabulator during the primary.
