Man convicted of 2023 murder of 19-year-old

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Twenty-year-old Catrell Woods has been convicted of the murder of a 19-year-old in Kalamazoo.

The teenager, Omar’re Williams-Dickey, was shot in the head near Bridge Street and Gilbert Avenue on May 11, 2023 and died at a hospital.

Woods will be sentenced in September.

Kalamazoo Public Safety Captain Danielle Guilds says the conviction “is a testament to the tireless efforts of our officers, detectives, and prosecutors.”
