KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – State Representative Julie Rogers will face Republican Terry Haines in the November election. Haines defeated Nicole Sabel in yesterday’s primary.
In state House District 42, House Minority Leader Matt Hall won his primary against Rich Cutshaw and will face Austin Marsman in November.
Democrat Matt Longjohn won the primary in state House District 40 yesterday over Lisa Brayton and will face Republican Kelly Sackett. The seat was opened by Representative Christine Morse running for circuit court judge.
Morse won the primary for that race yesterday with 53-percent of the vote. She defeated Mariko Willis and Angelique Camfield.
Sheriff Richard Fuller ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, while James Charon defeated Sabrina Pritchett-Evans in the Republican primary.
In the race for Kalamazoo County treasurer, Republican Dale Shugars defeated Pamela Herbert in the primary and will face Treasurer Thomas Whitener.
Kalamazoo County’s senior millage was renewed by a 78-to-22-percent margin.
Kalamazoo Township Supervisor Don Martin was defeated in the Democratic primary. Challenger David Combs beat him by a 64-to-35-percent margin, with 12 votes for a write-in candidate.
