GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The minimum wage for regular and tipped workers in Michigan will go above $12 an hour on February 21, 2025 and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce is working to help businesses with the change.
The Chamber’s vice president of government affairs Joshua Lunger says they have set up meetings with Democratic and Republican leaders in Lansing on the issue.
The Michigan Supreme Court last week ruled 4-to-3 that the adopt and amend tactic by the then-Republican controlled Legislature in 2018 on a minimum wage petition was unconstitutional.
The Chamber held a webinar on Friday with a legal expert to help businesses with questions about the wage hike and needing to offer paid sick time.
