PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Early voting has prompted Portage to change their rules on election advertising. Beginning with this fall’s election, candidates will be permitted to post lawn signs 45-days before the election, instead of 30-days.
Portage City Manager Pat McGinnis says the lawn signs should be taken down after next Tuesday’s vote, until September 19th.
The city of Portage also plans to send out notifications to candidates about the new rules.
