KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Over 1,000 kids are expected to attend the Family Health Center’s annual Back To School Bash, which is now scheduled for Friday, August 9 in Kalamazoo.
Organizers say this year’s event will focus on fun, children’s health, and making sure kids’ immunizations are up to date. It will be held from 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at FHC’s Paterson campus, 117 West Paterson Street.
Denise Crawford, President and CEO of Family Health Center, says helping kids start the school year healthy is critical to getting their learning off on the right foot.
Crawford says the Back To School Bash features games, attractions, refreshments, free backpacks with school supplies, and self-care kits, with information booths on health awareness and community support services. Immunizations will also be offered.
Completed well-child checks for children ages 3-12 and up-to-date immunizations are required for all children who attend the Bash. Well-child checks can be completed before the Bash or on the day of the event. Families can pre-register their children ahead of time by calling (269) 448-0805. Children will first receive their Well Child Exams and then are able to enjoy the Bash.
