MARSHALL, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Michigan Department of Transportation says they have awarded a state Transportation Economic Development Fund grant to the Calhoun County Road Department for road improvements related to Ford Motor Company’s BlueOval Battery Park.
The grant will fund $17 million of the $21.2 million infrastructure investment.
MDOT said in a press release the grant will improve safety, reduce congestion and support 1,700 new jobs and $2.5 billion of private investment in Emmett and Marshall Townships.
Improvements are scheduled for Verona Road between Raymond Road and 15 Mile Road along with sections of 11 Mile and 15 Mile Roads.
The improvements are designed to help accommodate increased traffic generated by the project.
