KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Board has just gotten their audit back for 2023, and it shows there are still problems in the County Treasurer’s Office.
Paul Matz with Rehmann Accounting says the audit shows there were still issues with the timely matching of bills with payments.
Matz says it’s better than last year and it is being addressed.
Finance Director Ryan Post says they are still getting county staff who deal with money in sync with their new audit system, and plan corrective action meetings next month to fix it.
The problems haven’t resulted in any loss of cash, in fact the audit revealed a $12.9 million budget surplus last year.
