PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Small Business Administration has set up a Disaster Loan Outreach Center for Kalamazoo County in Portage.
The move is the result of the May 7 EF-2 tornado that hit the county and did damage in Portage, Texas Township, and Pavilion Township.
The disaster declaration covers Kalamazoo County along with the adjacent counties of Allegan, Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, St. Joseph, and Van Buren.
People can apply for low-interest, long-term disaster loans from the SBA to support economic recovery in the area.
The Disaster Loan Outreach Center is located at Portage City Hall and will be open today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday starting next week from9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It will close effective Friday, July 26 at 4 p.m.
