SCHOOLCRAFT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Department of Transportation will be closing US-131 in both directions south of Schoolcraft starting Monday.
MDOT’s Nick Schirripa says it is to rebuild the railroad crossing.
The project is part of the two-year, $51 million work to rebuild and repave 13.4 miles of US-131 from the Rocky River in Three Rivers to Shaver Road in Schoolcraft.
The closure of US-131 will be for two weeks. The southbound lanes will reopen July 29, but northbound US-131 will remain closed for the next phase of the project.
