CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Opioid Settlement Funds Steering Committee is inviting organizations which address opioid prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery to apply for funding.
The selection process will utilize a competitive Request for Proposals process, and the number of awards will be determined based on a scoring matrix and funding availability. The amount of funds available for the County’s 2024 RFP process is $600,000 and will likely vary in future years.
To be eligible for 2024 awards, organizations must have their primary office or headquarters within Calhoun County and serve the residents of Calhoun County. Eligible applicants include nonprofits and local governments.
Proposal applications are due on August 9. Send completed applications with supporting documents to Calhoun County Administrator/Controller Kelli Scott, at kdscott@calhouncountymi.gov.
Anticipated notice of awards will be by August 23, 2024.
As of last month, Calhoun County has received $3.1 million. Over the next 18 years, the total expected settlement funds are between $11 million and $12 million, with an annual average of $600,000-$700,000.
