PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The cleanup is continuing in Portage three weeks after an EF-2 tornado hit the city.
At least 60 buildings were completely destroyed and another 129 sustained major damage.
Chelsea Gladney is among those whose home was damaged and she says she and her neighbors have gotten estimates that getting back to how the homes were before the tornado will take a year to a year and a half.
Portage Public Works director Rodriguez Russell says they have cleaned up around 30-thousand cubic yards of brush since the storm hit and they will pick that up through Friday.
