Sunday night fire at abandoned BC gas station considered suspicious

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A fire on Sunday night at a abandoned gas station on Spring Street is considered suspicious and is under investigation.

The Battle Creek Fire Department says their crews were dispatched at 6:36 p.m..

Firefighters were greeted by heavy smoke and fire coming from the unoccupied building when they arrived. The fire was put out within 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported. Damage throughout the structure was estimated at $55,000.

The City of Marshall Fire Investigator was called in to investigate the suspicious fire, along with the Battle Creek Police Department.
