LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – State Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt is back in Michigan after he took a trip to the Mexican border in Texas.
The Van Buren County Republican was joined on the trip to check the illegal immigration problem in Eagle Pass, Texas by state House Minority Leader Matt Hall of Kalamazoo County.
He tells Michigan’s Big Show illegal crossings in Texas have dropped sharply since the state activated the National Guard.
He says border crossings in Eagle Pass now are in the single digits daily. Michigan is not one of the states that has sent National Guard troops to Texas, but Indiana is.
Nesbitt says they were told illegal crossings increased after President Biden rescinded former President Trump’s Stay in Mexico policy.
