KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Climate activist high school students and college students, representatives from Native American tribes, and representatives from the Michigan League of Conservation Voters will be among those on-hand at a march and rally in Kalamazoo Friday.
Organizers says the event is the culminating event for the Western Michigan University Climate Change Working Group’s series of events called Climate Emergency: Spring into Action 2024.
Activists will march from Western Michigan University at West Michigan Avenue and Ring Road at 3:00 p.m., march from Kalamazoo College at 3:30 p.m., then rally at Bronson Park in downtown Kalamazoo from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Friday.
Members from many of the 40 affiliate groups that are part of the Kalamazoo Climate Crisis Coalition are also expected for the event.
Similar rallies are expected in up 40 cities across the United States.
