KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – It’s officially Road Construction Awareness Week in Kalamazoo, and with a lot of work underway, city of Kalamazoo officials want to stress the importance of safety.
City Public Services director James Baker says having crews working just feet from moving traffic is always a concern, and that concern is heightened with so much work going on.
Beginning this week, the intersection of Duke and Whites Road will be closed for sewer replacement, closing traffic in both directions. The intersection of Inkster and Westnedge will also be closed for the week to facilitate reconstruction, with Westnedge remaining open to southbound traffic.
