KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After the National Weather Service issued a High Wind Advisory for Friday afternoon, those winds created their predicted problems, downing trees and power lines, causing thousands to be in the dark.

A fire at a substation was reportedly one of the problems in Calhoun County.
Numerous roads were also blocked by downed trees.
On Saturday 2,083 Consumers Energy in Kalamazoo County were without power, with 2,944 out in Eaton County, 637 in Allegan County, and 298 in Van Buren County.
