LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer has a book being published on July 9. Simon & Schuster has announced it is publishing “True Gretch: What I’ve Learned About Life, Leadership, and Everything In Between.”
Simon & Schuster says Whitmer reveals what has shaped her career from being a lawyer, Ingham County prosecutor, state representative and senator, up to her two terms as governor.
She writes of the lessons learned that steered her through leading the state through the COVID-19 pandemic, a 500-year-flood, the fight to protect women’s reproductive rights, to the rise of domestic terrorism.
The publisher adds Whitmer will share stories of her lifelong clumsy streak, her self-depreciating campaigns on social media, and wild comments she has heard on the campaign trail.
Whitmer will donate her net proceeds from the book to the Capital Region Community Foundation through the rest of her term as governor.
