BANGOR TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Three people were ejected from their vehicle and seriously hurt during a rollover crash in Van Buren County’s Bangor Township Friday afternoon.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 5:05 p.m. on M-43 near 64th Street as an eastbound Nissan Armada ran off the road to the right, apparently overcorrected, crossed the highway into oncoming traffic and went into the ditch. The vehicle rolled multiple times, ejecting all three occupants. Then, the vehicle stopped in the ditch, partially submerged in water.
The sheriff’s office says the three occupants, a 22-year-old South Haven woman, a 20-year-old Bangor woman, and a 29-year-old Bangor man, were taken to the hospital with injuries that were serious, but not considered life-threatening.
Deputies say it is not clear who was driving and they’re still investigating the cause of the crash.
