CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Two Kalamazoo residents were arrested Wednesday by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office after deputies were made aware of multiple incidents involving counterfeit bill passing.
The first took place in the City of Albion and the second in Marshall Township.
In both incidents, the suspects tried to pass counterfeit $100 bills but they left the area before law enforcement could talk to them.
A suspect vehicle was identified and a deputy found it in Emmett Township trying another fraudulent transaction.
The Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that the vehicle was stopped and more counterfeit bills were found along with suspected cocaine and analog medication.
A 19-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were lodged at the Calhoun County Jail for passing counterfeit currency and possession of narcotics.
