LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is being sued by the Republican National Committee over what the RNC says are inflated voter rolls.
The party says 53 of the state’s 83 counties have more active registered voters than people over the age of 18.
Benson calls the lawsuit a public relations campaign “masquerading as a meritless lawsuit filed with baseless accusations that seek to diminish people’s faith in the security of our elections.”
She says federal data shows Michigan is the fifth most active state in removing registrations of voters who have died.
