BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Electrical wiring is being listed as the probable cause of a house fire in the 200 block of North Woodlawn Avenue on Wednesday morning which caused over $125,000 in damage.
The Battle Creek Fire Department says the fire was reported at 1:52 a.m..
The home was occupied at the time and officials say smoke detectors alerted the residents. Everyone was able to make a quick exit.
Firefighters found the entire back of the house was on fire when they arrived.
After making sure everyone was out of the structure, they managed to put out the flames.
Investigators report the fire was caused by the electrical junction box in the back the structure. No injuries were reported.
