Authorities working to identify man’s body found in the Kalamazoo River Monday afternoon

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The body of a man has been recovered from the Kalamazoo River Monday, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department was dispatched around 1:15 p.m. to the 600 block of Commerce Lane for a report of a suspicious object in the Kalamazoo River. On the scene, officers determined it was a man in the water.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Water Rescue and Recovery Unit assisted in the recovery of the body.

Township police say they are working to determine the individual’s name and the cause of death.
