GENEVA TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The family of a three-year-old boy that was rescued near South Haven several days ago says they are “forever grateful” to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Eric Calhoun and his K-9 partner Kuno found the toddler about 50 yards from a pond near the boy’s home.
Calhoun says officers were nervous because of the water near the property and says the boy was fond about an hour after the 9-1-1 call was made to authorities.
He says it was “probably the best feeling within the job” to reunite the boy with his family.
