LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Over a million Michiganders cast their ballots early in the state’s presidential primary.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says most of those were cast absentee, but over 78,000 early in-person votes were also cast during the nine days early voting was open.
She says turnout pre-election day was 13% higher than 2020 despite the nominations not being much in doubt in both parties. In 2020, nearly 2.4 million votes were cast in the presidential primary.
