LITCHFIELD, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Officials from Tekonsha and Coldwater Pansophia Academy will be meeting sometime on Tuesday to figure out the next steps that need to be taken after a fight broke out in the fourth quarter of the M.H.S.A.A. boys basketball district game between the two schools on Monday night in Litchfield.
Reports indicate a scramble that led to a jump ball call triggered the incident with about four-and-a-half minutes left in the contest and Tekonsha ahead 39-21.
Five players from both sides were involved in the fracas which resulted in several ejections.
Tekonsha Coach Kit Lepper and Pansophia Coach Jose Gonzalez then agreed to end the game which resulted in a forfeit in favor of Tekonsha.
Gonzalez, who also serves as the Athletic Director at Pansophia, said they we will not tolerate that kind of unsportsmanlike behavior.
Tekonsha Athletic Director Doug Tew and other Tekonsha school officials were unavailable for comment on Tuesday morning.
