LANSING, MI — When Sam’s Club in south Lansing closed in 2018, it left a big-box store along Edgewood Blvd., empty and facing a large obstacle.
Stock & Field filled the empty space for a few years but ultimately closed up in 2021. Since then the building has been idle. But new owners of the building are bringing new development ideas.
Lansing-based Dymaxion Development recently purchased the property and hopes to redevelop the site, but the new owners admit the chances of it ever being a big-box store ever again are slim. Instead, the space might become a distribution facility or some space that requires high-ceiling space, according to various media reports.
The new owners closed on the property – a 135,318-square-foot building – at 340 E. Edgewood Blvd. for $4.2 million earlier in February.
