In fact for the next few months, those students in grades 3, 4, and 5 who need extra help to catch up to their classmates will get intensive classroom exposure to math & reading instructors.
Director of Elementary Education Dr. Micole Dyson says classes will be from 9 am to noon, through May 5th with breakfast and lunches provided.
Trustee Jermaine Jackson says he is in full support of the extra classroom time.
Board President Ti’Anna Harrison says.
It won’t all be all work. Superintendent Darrin Slade says he plans to have their lunches catered by local fast food franchises.
Superintendent Slade says he has seen Saturday classes succeed in other districts where he has worked, and is confident they will work here too.
