WILLIAMSTON , MI — The Federal Emergency Management Agency today opened a disaster recovery center in Williamston. The recovery center will be located at 1296 W. Grand River Ave.
The Williamston area was declared a disaster area in the wake of tornado and severe storms that ripped through Ingham County in late August. The storms caused extensive damage in areas just south of Williamston.
It will not be in operation for long. The facility opened Thursday, Feb. 22, but will close down on March 2. The center will be open 8 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and closed Sundays. Closing permanently 6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 2.
