CLARENDON TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A 26-year-old Tekonsha man has been arrested for arson following a Tuesday fire at a Clarendon Township home in Calhoun County.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says the fire was reported on N Drive South.
The home was fully engulfed when firefighters from multiple departments arrived. They determined the structure was unoccupied.
Calhoun County dispatch then got word of a related situation with a disabled vehicle and a fight in progress on the side of M-60 near 23 Mile Road.
The suspect left the area as deputies were on their way to the scene but he was found after a search and arrested. After several hours of investigation by detectives, the man was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.
The fire response was handled by fire departments from Fredonia, Homer, Tekonsha and Albion Township as well as the Marshal Ambulance Fire Fighter Authority.
