EAST LANSING, MI — Riding a three game winning streak into last night’s game with Iowa, the Michigan State Spartans were amazingly inconsistant and lost to the Hawkeyes at the Breslin Center by a score of 78-71.
The Hawkeyes played “harder and better than we did,” Izzo said following the loss. The Spartans played like they “were in quicksand,” Izzo added.
For the Spartans another sluggish start did them in. They trailed by a dozen at half time. Tyson Walker and Malik Hall added 16 points each. A.J. Hogggard added 15 points in the loss.
Next up for the Spartans is another home matchup on Sunday afternoon against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
