KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A top Kalamazoo dining and tourist attraction is for sale.
The Henderson Castle mansion is now on the market for $5.0 million. Francois Moyet purchased the castle in 2010 for just over $1 million. He and his son restored the building and reopened it as an event venue and bed-and-breakfast in 2011
The 14-bedroom, 16-bathroom, 11,000-square-foot mansion overlooking West Main Hill was built in 1895 by Frank and Mary Henderson.
The three acre property at 100 Monroe Street features a restaurant, organic garden, vineyard and day spa, as well as a cottage house, in-ground pool, and rooftop jacuzzi. The castle and businesses are for sale as one package.
Moyet tells MLive it is time for him to retire from the hospitality business and he plans to return to his native France to run for political office.
