SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 55-year-old Sherwood Township man has died in a crash early Friday morning in Branch County.
Michigan State Police say he was driving a Chevrolet Cruze northbound on Oliverda Road south of Blossom Road in Sherwood Township when he crossed over into the southbound lane, went off the road, and smashed into a tree.
He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His son was a front seat passenger who was buckled up, and he survived.
Troopers do not yet know if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
