LANSING, MI — Lume Cannabis Co. announced today it plans to take over a large cannabis growing and processing facility in Dimondale from Skymint, allowing Lume to expand its production capabilities to meet its steadily growing demand.
Lume also announced it will be offering employment opportunities to current Skymint workers otherwise facing layoffs announced by Skymint. To take over operations at the facility, Lume is entering into a long-term lease with the owner of property, San Diego-based Innovative Industrial Properties.
Skymint, which entered receivership last year, had announced plans to close the 56,000-square-foot facility, formerly known as the Summit Ice and Sports Complex, and lay off its employees by March 1.
Lume plans to produce its premium Gold Label fresh frozen live rosin cannabis products at the facility and the company will invest millions of dollars in renovations to ensure Lume’s quality standards are met, according to Doug Hellyar, president and COO of Lume Cannabis Co.
