LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer says she is concerned by the number of Democrats who say they will vote “uncommitted” in the Michigan presidential primary February 27.
Whitmer says there is “a lot at stake” in this year’s presidential election and is urging people to support President Biden for a second term. Whitmer is telling people to not lose sight of the potential for a second term for former President Donald Trump.
Biden and three-term Congressman from Minnesota Dean Phillips are the only two candidates on the Democrat ballot.
While the Michigan Republican Party is also participating in the February primary, only about one third of the state’s delegates will be selected there. The remainder will e selected at party caucus meetings Saturday, March 2, 2024. Texas pastor Ryan Binkley, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and former President Donald Trump are listed on the Republican ballot.
