HARTFORD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A woman and two dogs have died from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning after they were found in their running car in Hartford Wednesday morning.
A man who was with them survived and is hospitalized in Grand Rapids.
Hartford Police Lieutenant James Ivy says the two were found at the Hartford Council for Recreation baseball field on Lincoln Street around 8:20 a.m. and adds they did not have a permanent home.
The couple had issues with a muffler, and Ivy says that led to the carbon monoxide leaking into the vehicle.
