PLAINWELL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – High school and middle school students in Plainwell are getting mental health support through the Clayful mobile app.
Charlie Wynne is the district’s compliance coordinating officer and says 40% of students reported feeling suicidal after the COVID-19 pandemic was over, and anxiety, depression, and bullying were also top concerns.
He says Clayful cost Plainwell Community Schools $100,000 but has been worth the investment.
Wynne says the app has also helped counselors and social workers and says it is completely anonymous unless someone is threatening to harm themselves or someone else.
