KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A crossing guard who was struck by a car on Lovers Lane at the end of the school day last Monday continues his recovery.
Michael Clayborn required a rod be surgically inserted into his left leg to fix two broken bones near his ankle.
Kalamazoo Public Schools trustee Jermaine Jackson says he had a chance to visit Clayborn at the hospital.
Superintendent Darrin Slade says he has been notified by the city of Kalamazoo that they are taking steps to improve safety along that stretch of Lovers Lane near Milwood Elementary.
The investigation into the car-pedestrian collision that injured Clayborn continues.
