KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees held their first meeting of the new year Thursday at the school’s new Student Center and welcomed two new board members.
Kara Woods of Grand Rapids will serve the remaining term of former trustee Kurtis Travan who has moved out of state, and James Liggins Jr. of Kalamazoo will serve out the term left vacant by the death of trustee Shani Penn.
Both were appointed by the Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The trustees also re-elected their current Chairperson Shelly Edgerton, Vice-Chairperson Alan Turfe, and Secretary Dr. Kahler B. Schuemann to remain in their posts for another year.
