LANSING, MI — Smash and grabs are quite common in large metropolitan areas but now one has happened in Lansing.
Eaton County Sheriff’s Deputies say they were called to Lansing Mall in Delta Township in the afternoon hours of Monday Jan. 22, in reference to a possible robbery in progress. The suspects involved in the incident fled the area prior to the Deputies’ arrival.
Police say an organized group of mostly teenage suspects entered the mall, caused damage to businesses and stole multiple items from a jewelry store inside the mall. The mall closed for a short time to allow for the investigative process.
The incident is being actively investigated by the Eaton County Sheriff Office’s Detective Bureau.
