PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Portage City Council has formally adopted their goals for the upcoming year.
The list was refined at recent retreats and the list may sound familiar to anyone who follows politics in Portage.
Topping the list is the creation of a Farmers Market followed by encouraging new housing, the delivery of residential waste hauling services, promoting small business development in the Portage Road/Lake Center Area and reviewing how they receive legal services.
Mayor Patricia Randall says they had to whittle down the list to items that were ongoing priorities.
Councilmember Chris Burns says they will be moving into budget deliberations in a couple of months, and they will want to see their goals addressed in that spending plan.
Mayor Randall says that list may also change as the year progresses and priorities shift.
