CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriffs Office says it’s received reports that fraudulent calls are being made to residents in which the caller implies they are a Sheriff’s Deputy and ask the call-taker for money.
The caller falsely claims to be Deputy Todd Madsen. He is a law enforcement officer but is not making these calls.
The Sheriff’s Office says it wants the public to be aware that deputies will never call citizens to request money or critical personal information, such as social security numbers or account information, and that such calls are scams.
If you receive a call like this, call Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch at (269) 781-0911 to report the incident.
