KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Even though the heaviest snow has ended across southwest Michigan, bitterly cold temperatures and gusty winds have settled in to start the week.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory until 12:00 p.m. Monday, with the wind chill expected to be as 25 below zero. The advisory includes Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties.
The NWS say the cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Most schools that were scheduled to have classes Monday canceled. Some districts were already closed for the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.
