GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The National Weather Service is predicting a large winter storm will impact the region this weekend with one or more periods of snow, strong winds and cold temperatures.
They say you can expect changes in the forecast over the next couple days which could affect the amount of snow you can expect, but you should not delay any preparations for this weekend.
Forecasters are predicting six or more inches of snow from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon.
Strong winds on Saturday and Sunday could lead to widespread blowing and drifting snow.
Arctic air is then expected to move in late this weekend and into early next week. Forecasters are calling for temperatures to drop into the single digits with wind chills hovering between 15 and 25 degrees below zero.
Obviously, there will be a significant impact on travel this weekend.
