ANN ARBOR, MI — Michigan gets to wave the #1 banner after the Wolverines dominated No. 2 Washington on the ground last night for a 34-13 win in the College Football National Championship game.
The Wolverines obliterated the record books, too, by piling up a history-making 303 yards rushing while dominating the Huskies on both lines of scrimmage all night. The championship game, played in Houston, featured running back Michigan running backs Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards both rushing for over 100 yards. Michigan’s 303 yards rushing was more than Washington’s total yardage in the game (301).
Now attention will turn to the future of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. There is widespread speculation he is going to jump back to the NFL and grab one of the six current openings for head coaches in professional football.
